【Scope of application

Temporary catheterization or indwelling catheterization in patients who are unable to urinate spontaneously.

【How to use

  1. Inform the patient or family of the reasons, methods, possible discomfort, ways to relieve discomfort, possible complications and post-catheterization nursing cooperation to patients or their families.
  1. Check the specifications and models used and check whether the packaging is damaged and whether the catheter balloon is damaged.
  1. Ask the patient to take a deep breath when intubating.
  1. Disinfect the patient's perineum.
  1. Choose the appropriate lubricant to lubricate the urinary catheter.
  1. Gently insert the urinary catheter, and then insert 5cm-6cm after urine.
  1. Inject the balloon with sterile water of appropriate capacity, and gently pull the catheter outward until resistance is encountered.
  1. Connect the catheter to the urine bag and open the catheter.
  1. Extubation: Use a syringe to drain the liquid in the balloon, close the catheter or drainage bag, and gently pull the catheter out.

【Contraindications

It is contraindicated in patients with severe urethral inflammation, severe urethral stricture, acute prostatitis, or urethral rupture suspected to be related to blunt or penetrating trauma.

[Precautions, warnings and reminders]

  1. This product is sterilized by ethylene oxide, the packaging is damaged, and it is forbidden to use it;
  1. Choose the appropriate urinary catheter size, for children or those with urethral stricture, the catheter size should be small;
  1. When inserting the urethral catheter, the action should be gentle to avoid damaging the urethral mucosa, and the insertion should not be too deep or too shallow, especially avoid repeated twitching of the urinary catheter;
  1. Please strictly aseptic operation when using, only sterile water can be injected into the balloon, and the amount of water injected shall not exceed the marked capacity;
  1. If the bladder is overfilled and the patient is extremely weak, urination should be slow, and the first amount of urine should not exceed 1000mL, so as to avoid bleeding or fainting caused by sudden bladder decompression;
  1. When measuring residual urine, ask the patient to urinate on his own first, and then catheterize. Normal residual urine volume is 5 to 10 mL, and indwelling catheterization should be placed if more than 100 mL;
  1. When indwelling catheterization, the fixation of the catheter should be checked frequently, whether there is any prolapse, it is recommended to replace the catheter in accordance with the clinical nursing norms or cycle, and let the urethra relax for a few hours before reinserting it when intubating again;
  1. If there is resistance to pulling out the catheter, it should not be pulled out strongly, otherwise the urethra will be damaged;
  1. When pulling out the urinary catheter, you can insert the empty syringe barrel into the valve according to the water injection method to let the water drain naturally, or cut off the one-way valve and pull it out after natural discharge.
  1. If you find that the sterile water of the balloon cannot be released and other measures cannot be discharged, please contact the manufacturer in time, deal with it under the guidance of the manufacturer, and recommend the guidewire or take out the perineal puncture under B ultrasound.
  1. For patients who are emotionally unstable or unable to control their behavior, they need to strengthen nursing, and it is recommended to use a single-lumen urinary catheter, and appropriate restraint should be carried out if necessary to prevent organic damage caused by self-extubation.
  1. After the use of this product, the product and packaging should be disposed of according to the requirements of the hospital or environmental protection.
